Kan Cicekleri episode 186

Episode 186 Dilan Gets All The Flack

Quick synopsis: A family visit. A happy kidnapping. The ladies are not very ladylike.

Dilan has decided she must go see Cevdet. Even though Baran thinks there's a security breach; even though they could still be in real danger; even though he said don't go anywhere without me, I can't stand for anyone else to get hurt, especially you.
Dilan, chica, this seems like a bad idea.* Baran pulls up just as she walks out. Cevdet has also made his way to the mansion, with the intent to tell her the secret their parents have been keeping. He decides at the very last minute though, that Baran can't know it too. They are still afraid this will negate the solution to the vendetta. If they only knew how proud (most of) Baran's family is that these two ended the feud.

Baran knows her. He knew she wouldn't rest until she saw them. That's why he's having them come there, to see her. Baran is a crow, making her eat humble pie; he says, I wish you knew me too, that I would never leave you alone with your worries. Which is really sweet, but also a little fickle on his part. He has actually done exactly this in the past. But, ok, fine, you've got us there, FrownyBaran. This time.

Kudret and Cihan want to know how his meeting with Derya in prison went. What happened?
Lies, that's what. She's taking blame for the raid on the wedding. They don't understand why. We're surprised too. This is news to everyone.
They decide to see who has visited Derya in prison. Maybe they put her up to it. Cihan steps up. He'll do it. Baran is wondering if there's a connection between her and Sabiha. Slight lip hitch, not a full teeth suck.
Fixing the security breach comes first though.

Cevahir has some weird mouth ticks. Or maybe he is just using his mouth to maximum smug factor. Something. He's using it on Sabiha. He seems insistent that they remain partners. He's the one who has convinced Derya to take the fall for Sabiha's raid on the wedding. Well duh. He is the one who visited her in prison. We get to see it in a flashback. It's either take the blame or he'll have someone on the inside hurt her.

Cihan is trying to step into his role in the Karabey dealings, have a greater part in what's going on. His deductions are incorrect however, and to prove it to him, Baran divulges the secret that Dilan said she ran away instead of being kidnapped. I'd honestly forgotten that only the two of them knew that. All that back and forth and still there's this lingering issue of the truth vs. what she said (was forced to say)?
Cihan is emphatic though; this news is impossible! He saw how she was when Baran was shot. No dice. Baran thinks so too (whew! nevermind) and that's why he still doesn't trust Sabiha. Cihan agrees. Karabey Boys powers--activate! (Just like the Wonder Twins!)

In other fantastic news, Kader seems to have forgiven Dilan. A nice follow up to Cihan's disbelief in her running away. Dilan and Gul talk excitedly about her family coming over. Azade-doom is less than enthusiastic. Gul won't be there; she has plans with Salih instead.
Dilan is trying out different outfits in the mirror. Baran swaggers in smiling. Which one? she asks. This one compliments her lovely eyes, but that one is elegant, like her.
She has a suggestion too. Wear this suit; you look so good in navy blue. (She's not wrong.)
It's getting very complimenty in here.

She is also very excited about being an aunt. They talk about how she'll be a great mom someday and he'll be a great dad...it makes him sad though because he and Kerem would talk about their kids being best friends too and how they'd all go fishing together.**
She takes his face in her hands, trying to console him. There's really no comfort for such a longing loss though.

They are importing security from the old country*** counting on them being more loyal to the family. Cihan thinks one of them looks familiar. They hide the CVs from Hasan. He whines about it to Azade. Those two, such rabble rousers. Hasan does seem to like to stir the pot just to see what happens. Whip things up without any real plan. And then take off. Hasan, you rat.

Sabiha is getting into the protection racket. She'll stay close to Cevahir so she can keep an eye on him for Dilan and Baran's sake.
Silah is waiting with flowers when a black car speeds around a corner and stops in front of Gul, essentially cutting him off from her. It's Firat. He grabs Gul and pushes her into the car. Silah is too far away to do anything. Except call Azade-doom.

Dilan's family arrive.**** Baran gives Azade a final warning look before stepping outside with Dilan. She pulls Dilan aside anyway and gives her best "I'd sooner kill your brother than welcome you as a bride in this house" spiel, which Cevdet and Hanife overhear. This may change his mind.
Also, Azade needs a new hobby.
Or maybe not, since her latest new hobby is Silah.
Also, Baran would be super pissed if he'd heard her say that. And despite her you're-not-the-lady-of-the-house speech, Dilan and Baran are positioned at the head of the room. Cevdet is not himself. Baran notices. (Of course he does.)

Gul is ticked, but once she gets out of the car, Firat chases after her. He'll do anything if she'll just forgive him. One day. Not even right now. She tries to hide her smile but once he sees a crack, he's got hope. A little more smile. Elation! She will sometime, she'll forgive him. Oh not so fast mister, it will take time. But he's got a foot in the door.

In contrast to Azade-doom, Kudret talks about how proud he is of his children's humanity and compassion. Azade has a counter: it's not the giving birth that's important, it's how you raise them. With this comment she both praises the boys (she raised them) and gets in a dig at Dilan's parents. Hanife looks scared at this. It's almost like she didn't give birth to Dilan and also didn't raise her well, and she thinks Azade knows...
That woman's superpower is menace. She's raised it to an artform. She's practically Irish. Baran sounds off a warning. She excuses herself.
As soon as Dilan goes into the kitchen for more tea, Cevdet is on his feet ready to follow. Hanife cuts him off--she will help Dilan--and he sits back down. Baran notices.
In the kitchen Hanife lays into Dilan. She is berating her. Baran overhears.
(Good grief! What is wrong with these women? Step off ladies.) Now we're gonna see some shit. Bring it, FrownyBaran!
He plays it cool. Does Dilan need any...help? Hanife leaves and he goes up and starts caressing her face. She's beautiful. And delicate. Like the Spring. This is a better kind of Bring It, hands down.

Gul and Firat went to...an amusement park? Ok. Color me amused. There's banter. Like, they're being totally goofy. It's great. He is smiling because he just likes the sound of his name in her voice, that kind of goofy. They're so happy.

Cevdet sees Dilan and Baran happy, looking lovingly at one another. What he tells her, it could ruin that. He is unsure now. He leaves to get some air. After a beat, Dilan excuses herself too. (She's no dummy.)  She walks out after him. Baran notices.
Out by the pool, Cevdet is about to tell her. Neither of them notice Baran standing in the doorway to the house behind them. In contrast to the way the previous episode ended, he is now framed in the background between them.

Yelling at the tv:
**I wonder if they'll name their kid Kerem.
***This is so funny to me. In the West, this is a very Italian thing to do. Or maybe Russian. Still, very Godfather mafia.

Culturisms:
*In our family, we have some family idioms. 'A trip to the dentist' is one of them, meaning something is a bad idea. It's not true of course; going to the dentist is a very good idea. But it stems from a joke I've forgotten and the idiom is all that remains of whatever tomfoolery we came up with at the time. Dilan is taking a trip to the dentist for sure.
****Cevriye is wearing this pretty cool fat braid headband, similar to a hair braid.  As if she had her own hair braided up like a milkmaid's . It's genius. Why have I never thought of this before? Looks like I have a new craft project.

Teaser 187:
Dilan is worried about her brother. He has a problem he isn't telling her about. She is also keeping watch until Baran goes to sleep. He hasn't been sleeping much lately. He keeps working as she falls asleep on his shoulder.

Kan Cicekleri episode 185

Episode 185 To Know Or Not To Know

Quick synopsis: Cevahir, the unknown commodity. Cevdet wants to spill the beans. Baran is jittery.

Cevahir has come to the mansion with condolences about Kerem. Baran knows him. He is a fellow businessman. Dilan is introduced. Sabiha seems nervous for this to happen. Cevahir pretends not to know Sabiha when she walks back up. Shady, definitely shady this one. Baran watches this closely. As they are walking away, Havin asks the question we all are: Did you know that they knew each other? No, she did not. Cevahir never mentioned it. But, in an about face of revenge plans, she vows to protect Dilan and her husband from him.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend, I guess?
And she is curious, taking a page from Dilan's book: Why does Cevahir hate Baran?

Cevriye confronts Hanife about how Dilan came to the family and the letter from her biological father. No wonder she gave Dilan up as a vendetta bride so easily. Cevdet overhears Dilan was adopted. I think this plot is close to coming to fruition too.

In other news, Kader is still tepid toward Dilan.
Dilan finds out she's going to be an aunt.
Cevahir has a charitable foundation too.* It's for kids. Kerem made a donation on behalf of the Karabeys. Baran is invited to a party for the foundation. The Karabeys are apparently the biggest donors.
Cevdet is having a hard time with Dilan being adopted. Hanife was known to be harder on her. He's pretty mad. He's read the letter. Dilan fulfilled a vendetta she had nothing to do with.

Dilan goes to the study to tell Baran her good aunt news. She starts with, how is he doing? Now that he sees her, he's better. It's nice to see them be happy with each other, to each other, again. She's going to be an aunt! The most beautiful aunt (with a face caress). Should they go to her brother's for a visit? Now? In the midst of their grief over Kerem? Now is the only time to go. Kerem's death taught him that. No more delaying anything. Especially as it concerns her.

Lovey Dovey FrownyBaran has been thinking on things.

She kisses him on the cheek and he nearly turns so their mouths touch--but they are interrupted By Kudret's knock at the door, Cihan in tow. Kerem had prepared a dossier on Sabiha but when Baran goes to get it to share with his dad and brother, it's gone.

Firat has come back from his visit with Derya and has a bone to pick with his father. Mainly, his part in breaking up Gul and him. And it wasn't just some skipped over info or a lie by omission. He actually planted a check in Gul's purse for Firat to find.
Azade steps in. She agrees with Hasan. (Big surprise.) He doesn't deny it either, saying Gul wasn't right for their family. The subterfuge bothers neither of them.**

Kudret has his own tail on Sabiha and he almost found out she went to Cevahir's office.
Cevahir has an impressive key ring with lots of old fashioned keys. Why? Who knows. That dude has some hang-ups though, that's for sure. Maybe they fit his own collection of heart boxes?

Baran is really upset about this missing file. And he's giving Dilan the stink eye. He isn't thinking she took it, but the missing info in that file has him on edge. He didn't get a chance to look through it before it went missing and now he's back on high alert. Dilan can't go out alone. And the trip to her brother's is off. Man, he's ticked. This missing dossier is indicative of a larger security issue. Replace the current staff with guys from Mardin? Sure. But then a whole bunch of people will be out of work. They'll find jobs for them elsewhere.
Plus, he's a little panicked about losing more people in his life.
Dilan calls Sabiha. She doesn't have it, but she thinks she knows who does...
Sabiha is thus recategorized as no longer the enemy.

Firat confesses that he knows everything about the lying. Why didn't she tell him? If only she'd said--she cuts him off. It's her fault now? He calls her Darling, begs her forgiveness. She tears out of his grip as Kader rounds the corner. She is a mama lion. Oh Firat, my poor toad. Now you're messing with a-- Well, you know.
She starts in on him. You have nothing left to give her. But Firat gives no quarter either. He will not rest until he's back in her good graces. Moslty though, he just wants to keep Gul from doing something that will make her unhappy, like marrying Silah.

Baran is freaking out, y'all. Dilan comes back from her walk and he's livid because he couldn't find her. It's the overbearing stuff again but this time he grabs no part of her, and she tells him off for treating her like a child, and walks off, leaving him to slow blink at himself for overreacting.

Cevdet's beef with not telling Dilan about her past is that she was expendable in his parent's eyes, the obvious choice for the Karabey vendetta. They gave her up to protect their family, whereas he thinks of her as family. He's a lot like Baran. Once the truth is known he won't keep quiet. His family is worried the vendetta will be reignited and they'll come for him instead. Dilan calls him back after their call was interrupted, but he doesn't answer.
Baran brings a peace offering of tea to Dilan. He's sorry; she accepts. But wishes he'd talked to her instead of lashing out. He confides that there is a breach in mansion security. No visits until they figure this out. She is to stay by his side.*** He couldn't bear to lose anyone again, or see them hurt. Especially her. He tucks her in close. He has a hunch there's still someone messing with them. This is no mere nigging worry.

Y'all. She's knitting baby booties with cherries on them for Cevriye's twins. OMG. They are super cute. Since she couldn't reach Cevdet, she calls her sister-in-law instead. They have an awkward conversation. Her mom also doesn't want to come to the phone. (She's terrified.) It reminds Dilan of all the times she was overlooked by her growing up. Baran steps in. You have me now. He pulls her in close, caressing her face.

Firat is the first one to breakfast in the morning as Gul is laying out the silverware. It's too late for them, she tells him. Oh no it's not! He makes some convincing points about still being so in love with her. No dice. I wonder what it's going to take? 🤔
Aside from just missing Kerem terribly, there's all the stuff he used to do too. Baran is having to take that over as well, all while thinking about him. Dilan makes an answering pledge to him: I'm always here for you.

Derya's lawyer calls Baran; she wants to meet. Baran is going but Dilan needs to stay at home, where she's protected. That seems legit. At the prison, Baran slams his hand down on the table. Derya starts blubbering. Cut to the chase, lady. She confesses to being behind the wedding raid. To everything actually.
He's confused. Wasn't that Sabiha?
Dilan hasn't been able to reach her brother. The call with Cevriye was weird. Then he refused her call back. Yesterday's visit was cancelled. Baran says maybe today after he gets back. Something must have happened with her brother and she's worried. Baran will be furious if she leaves but she has to see her brother.
Forget furious Dilan, you could be dead. I mean, it really is the worst of the two, non? At this point, it just seems like folly.

Cevahir is playing with a staple puller. He has weird hobbies.
Sabiha, dressed in white now, pays him a visit. He has leverage on her. It's Baran's missing dossier.**** She'll do what he says or Baran will get his file back and learn about her secret life in Germany.*****

I want to know more about her secret life in Germany.

Gul tries to stop Dilan from going but in the end just asks her to be careful. Baran drives up and gets out of the truck as she is walking out. Cevdet arrives at the mansion and sees them standing together.

Yelling at the tv:
*Cevahir's also got a FrownyBaran crease between his brows. Businessmen...gangsters...whaddya gonna do?
** I wonder what Azade's husband was like. We see a direct line of valor from Kudret to Baran, and skeeviness from Hasan to Firat. Although Firat is arguably trying to shake that off. Is Kudret like his dad, and that's where he gets it from? And Hasan took after his mom?
***So I used to interpret this more literally when it came up before. But now it seems more like a literal translation of something more akin to 'I want you nearby'.
****How'd he get that thing anyway? Was it during coffee in the gazebo? No sight lines to the study's outside door and his guy could slip in and out?
*****OK, I know this is a lot. But with her past in Germany, and Zumrut being there too, with Ali... there's going to be a time when these two things coincide, I just know it.
1 Hagia Sofaraway chanted.

Culturisms:
The 'you're right' argument strategy persists. Did they always do this and I missed it? Or is it happening more now? There's certainly more arguments than before.

Teaser 186:
Baran walks into their room smiling, looking at her dress choices for an event. And she has a clothing suggestion for him too. The event is going to see her family. They talk about babies, being a good mum and dad (oooooh! I sense groundwork!) and Baran remembers how he and Kerem planned to be dads at the same time.
Well now I'm sad again.

Kan Cicekleri episode 184

Episode 184 A Heartrending Loss

A quick word before we begin:
I'm a little devastated. I still can't believe they killed off Kerem. It took a while before I could get back to the show. I was avoiding moment and needed some time

Quick synopsis: A death in the family. A bigger baddie. A great sorrow.

The opening shot confirms the events we were hoping against. Baran is a pall bearer as a casket is carried toward new graves.
Kerem has died.

We see his death in a flashback. They use the defibrillator a bunch of times and then put the paddles away. The flatline beep is steady and they start pulling equipment off him. The sheet is pulled over him. It's done. Baran is devastated. So are we. Dilan's family are also pall bearers alongside Baran and his family.
This is gonna be a bummer episode, y'all.
After saying goodbye to Kerem in the hospital, Baran breaks down and hangs off Dilan.
Baran and the boys fill in his grave. Sabiha shows up at the funeral. Only Dilan sees her and their exchange is kind and brief. Everyone leaves except Baran but it's unspoken that Dilan won't leave him. Ahmet's words of condolence are the last spoken.

Cevriye discovered from the letter that Dilan's real mother is named Esra Vilmaz. And by extension, that she was adopted.

Sabiha has to make a stop on the way home from the funeral. It's to see Cevahir.
Finally.
Here we go:
He's cheesy. And looks a little like Cihan, which is unsettling. Havin either doesn't know who he is or doesn't trust him. She holds up her hand when he asks her to sit. She will stand thanks. I guess he and Sabiha were business partners, who recently made a bunch of money. And somewhere in there is his help in partnership with her revenge on Baran. She has come to withdraw from whatever deal they had. He squeezes his gloved hand. Havin watches carefully. He's not so inclined and gives a very dismissive, chiding, derisive, almost vampiric and very deliberate teeth-suck. There is nothing quick-tempered or emotional about it. Much as I abuse Baran for the times he does it, they come from an honest place, in the moment, and are reactionary, almost without thought. It's part of what makes them so amusing to me. This one from Cevahir is calculated and meant to demean, to put Sabiha in her (supposed) place. It definitely sets him up as a bigger, meaner villain.
He walks behind her, specifically to be menacing, and glances up at Havin too, so she knows as well, flexing his abusive power, and says "No, our partnership stands".
Sabiha is tough though and she doesn't back down. She has her say as well. It helps that she's so tall. When she stands up to leave, she literally stands up to him.
But I sense she'll need Baran's help with this guy in the future.
Cevahir has some angry ticks. He's going to be a good villain.

Baran is crying big ole tears, rolling down his face and nose. Hands in the mounds of grave dirt. This is so hard to watch.

Salih shows up. Again. My dude. Just...no. He's there to offer support, so it's fine, I guess. The family sees him as they pass by coming back from the funeral.

Baran talks about memories of Kerem, how he should have made more time for him. Regret is a black hole, Dilan says. If you fall in you'll never get out. You loved each other. That's what matters. And who doesn't want more time?* Love is bottomless too, though, like regret. You can never get enough of those you love. Baran is a little heartened by this. Your loved ones should come before all else. They lean into each other and they hold each other.

Firat can't let it go. He has to know what Gul meant the other day about believing Derya's lies over her. He comes up behind her at the sink and we have a juxtaposition to Cevahir's creepy version vs. Firat wants to be secretive and close. Gul, like a champ, says go ask her (you toad).

Kerem's parents are at the mansion. His mom compares Kerem and Dilan, how big hearted they are. Hasan tries not to choke. Even Azade is sad.
Gah. Baran gets a voicemail from Kerem: Fishing date on the calendar; documents emailed.
We die a little more inside.
Ahmet stops by as Baran and Cihan are talking. It's Ahmet of course, but it still doesn't change the fact that Kerem is gone. Kudret tries too. Baran especially feels responsible because he asked Kerem to keep an eye on Derya and not let her leave. Kudret does the "look me in the eye" thing to him. No one can stop death. He hugs him tight.

Seyit is still looking into Sabiha.

Baran falls over on the bed and rests his head in Dilan's lap. She strokes his hair and offers more words of comfort. The camera angle on Baran is jarring, meant to convey his weariness. In his sleep he remembers Kerem's wave back to him (I knew that was going to come into play) and of Kerem in the hospital, saying "Don't leave me". He vows never to lose anyone again.
Oh boy. That's going to be difficult.

Firat goes to see Derya in prison.** She is unrepentant. But he's really there to confront her about lying to Gul. She sends him back to Hasan. The rat.
Sabiha visits the mansion. Baran looks to Dilan. She assures him Sabiha poses no threat anymore. She is there only to pay condolences, Havin too. Baran gets a call that interrupts them.
Damn, for a second I forgot it wasn't Kerem on the other end of the line. 😥
Sabiha is moving. She actually came to say goodbye. She is repentant. Dilan isn't forgiving exactly, but wants to part ways peaceably.
Someone is driving up in a black car as they are walking away. We get a slow pan up from the black shoes, to see the black gloved hand before seeing the face of the visitor.***
Sabiha's lip practically curls.
Cevahir has come to pay his respects. He uses Baran's first name. Baran uses his. They know each other.
Sabiha's face says this whole situation just went down the toilet.

Yelling at the tv:
*This is such a great piece of advice. It does the "you're right" bit and also makes so much sense, takes such a weight off.
***How. the frick. do these men have such incredibly long eyelashes?!
I miss Kerem. This sucks. We find out (I find out, you might already know) his name means nobility, generosity, heart of gold. Suckity, suck, sucks, I tell you.

Culturisms:
**Slamming the hand down seems to be a pretty standard gesture too. Even Firat gets to do it in this episode, a few times.

Teaser 185:
Dilan has found out Cevdet and Cevriye are having twins. She tells Baran. They'll visit because there's no time like the present. Kerem's death has Baran feeling pressure to seize the day. No more delays. Especially with things concerning her. The Karabey boys also discuss Cevahir and Sabiha, respectively.

Kan Cicekleri episode 183

 Episode 183 One Man Down

Quick synopsis: A manhunt. Firat's series of mistakes. The end is nigh.

They have tracked Derya's phone to a tall planter outside a station (Train? Bus?) but she's not there. She's still in the witch's hut sans witch. Cevahir, of all people, is helping her. Who is this dude who pulls everybody's strings? When Baran goes back to the hospital Cihan is left in charge.

Gul and Dilan are lamenting Derya's choices. And being left with bodyguards. Ah, a gangster's wife's life...
Sabiha shows up at the hospital. Wait, doesn't she own one? Is this her hospital? Nobody says so.

A couple interesting things happen:
1. Gul and Dilan wonder, sort of off-handedly, whom Derya teamed up with now. Because she would team up with the worst lowlife to save herself. (I feel like the writers are just having fun now.) So we get some insight into what Cevahir is supposed to be in this world. If we haven't already figured it out from the one-gloved hand, shadowy close-ups, and slow-reveal clues. Paired with Baran's certainty that there's a mastermind involved. To be one tier up from both Derya and Sabiha, he must be next level.

2. Sabiha assures Dilan she is right to be angry with her, but maybe if she were a mother who'd lost her child, she'd understand. This feels like a reach, seeing as there's no kids yet. But it also feels like fore-shadowing. (Oof. That doesn't sound fun.) And then Sabiha thinks to herself that she lost both of them actually, and we are reminded that one of them--we think--is standing right in front of her. She's accepting of Dilan's censure and passing on good wishes for Kerem's recovery when Baran walks in through the sliding door.
His eyes go wide.
But really, what was Dilan supposed to do? It's a public place.
He inserts himself between them. And when she's gone, suits up to go into the ICU.*

Someone is finally eating: Gul has a small packet of crackers. Which she offers to Firat. Baran eats a bite too; Dilan insists. He's reduced to blinks as responses though, he's so forlorn.
Firat offers, tea? No, Gul and Dilan just had some. Coffee then? No.
Azade and the boys show up. She dismisses Gul back to the house with a veiled threat about her mom and then she and Hasan lay into Firat. He points out that Gul is a more preferable to the woman they seemed to like so well. A woman like Derya. Point Firat! They try to throw it back on him but he reminds them, Hasan told him to marry Derya. And he knew how awful she was. Azade bangs her stick and Hasan gives him a look like, 'Yeah! What she said!' He's such a rat.

Derya's father is coming to the hospital. He looks shady, kinda broken down and floppy. Baran is on him; gimme your phone. They call a recent unknown number. Put the phone on speaker. She answers! There's a windchime in the background. After a brief conversation where everyone but her dad is completely silent, she hangs up, knowing they are onto her. Kudret stays with Dilan; Firat and Cihan go with Baran. He knows where she is. That sound was familiar.

Ok, so remember how I noted we never hear about Firat's mom? Well, in grousing about Derya, Azade wants to know, "What is it with Karabey boys? (Oh hon, don't we all?) They always go for the bad ones." Only Kudret picked a good one and that ended too soon. So she inadvertently insults Hasan, because his choice was iffy, but also he's the one who killed Kudret's wife Ayten, the only good choice. It's a double whammy for Hasan and she doesn't even realize it.

The Karabey boys have game faces on. Baran is absolutely certain of the place. His mom bought the windchime he heard in the background. Derya has been staying in one of their own cottages.**
Derya's ride pulls up out front. Baran pulls up facing her getaway car. It's a shoot-out between the Karabeys and the guys who came for Derya.
Dilan has a mild panic attack at the same time. A show of how connected they are? Kudret calms her down by saying he's in the same situation she is, it's his family out there too.
Cevahir's guys back down or flee. Firat pulls Derya out of the car. Okan is called in. Cevahir gets an update. Dilan gets an update. Kudret too.
There's nothing to update about Kerem.
When Baran gets to the hospital, he gets a big hug from Dilan. Baran should go home. Nope. Dilan should though. Fat chance. Kudret will go home.

Gul is on the patio when Firat and Cihan return. Firat gives her an update. A few things happen quickly:
1. Firat says he can see Silah is a bad guy. (I'm not sure about that. Also, see previous judgement.)
2. Yes, it was his decision to marry Derya, but it was just business. (The worst kind of excuse actually.)
3. But it wasn't only his decision; also he didn't go through with it.
4. Don't marry that guy because you are angry with me.
Gul counters with #5. and the final point, it doesn't matter if I do or don't marry him, I can't say 'yes' to you.
He believed Derya's lies and not Gul. They are ruined and done. And she goes back in the house.
And then: "Derya's lies?" Firat doesn' know what that means.
Oh my dude. Firat, you misguided toad.

Sabiha is calling it quits. She needs to get away from it all and they (Dilan and Baran) need her to as well.
Kerem is awake! Baran can go see him. He's still in ICU so make it quick. They joke a little. And then he flatlines. But he won't let go of Baran's hand. The medical team hustle him out and start to use the paddles on Kerem.

Yelling at the tv:
*Again, you can't get suited up and then take your mask down. I know, I know, he has to talk. But still. It's weird.
**So, witch hut wasn't so far off, if you think of it in terms of Azade-doom.
Of note, Cevriye reads a letter that she thinks will explain why there are no baby photos of Dilan.
1 Hagia Sophia and 2 Hagia Sofaraways chanted.

Teaser 184:
Oh frick. They are seaside talking about Kerem in the past tense. Baran is remembering going fishing with him. Dilan comforts him. She's pretty good at it.

Kan Cicekleri épisode 182

Episode 182 All About Kerem

Quick synopsis: Kerem is in the ICU. Derya is a fugitive. Everyone feels guilty.

Kerem has been stabbed. Derya did it. And then ran when she encountered Dilan outside the study doors.
It's pandemonium. Everyone comes running and Cihan calls an ambulance. Baran is beside himself and poor Kerem is getting rolled around like a ball. Cihan and Firat go after Derya. We see her memory of stabbing him. It's very close to his heart. She is running on the grounds.
It's bad. It was the heart. The doctor confirms it. His aorta is shattered. Oh gang. This is not good.
Hasan and Azade are baffled by Derya's behavior. (By what exactly? The stabbing? That she ran? I mean c'mon folks.)

Cevriye has hit upon a family secret: there are no baby photos of Dilan and someone in the family was adopted. She strikes me as someone who doesn't let things go either.

Baran feels guilty. He shouldn't have asked Kerem to stop Derya from leaving the mansion. And he is ticked with Firat for his alliance to her and how it brought her into their orbit again. Dilan continues to be the voice of reason. This isn't the time or place for a fight.
Firat delivers the backstory to Hasan and Azade that Derya hired Fikri, Baran told Kerem and Kerem kept her from leaving.
Azade feels guilty. ('Bout damn time.) She encouraged Derya and asked her to stay at the mansion originally.
Firat feels guilty. Gul checks in to see how he's doing. Gul tells him Derya would have pushed her way in anyway, through some other way if not him. Don't beat yourself up. As she's leaving, he tells her he's glad she's here. It stops her in her tracks.

Kerem is in the ICU now. The surgery went well. Now we wait for him to wake up. There's no reason to stay; they'll call if anything changes. Baran won't leave. Dilan intervenes. They'll go home and get cleaned up so they are ready when he wakes up.

Sabiha is settling up and taking off for good. Cevahir won't like it.*
Silah shows up out of the blue, pacing in the driveway. And calling Gul "Baby". Gul shuts that down right quick. What is he doing here anyway? What could be more important than us? he wants to know. A lot actually. (Gul's words, not mine.) He's being a little clingy and maybe a little pushy. He doesn't know what's happened but Gul has no patience for a late night social call.

Poor FuzzyBaran. I take it back. I don't miss the fuzziness if this is what comes of it. He's floundering. Kerem is his best friend. Dilan continues to bolster, reminding him Kerem is strong, keeping Baran's spirits up. He grabs her hand and rests his head on her shoulder as she holds him.
The cops are in pursuit. Kudret sent his men. Okan is on it too. It's just a matter of time.
For once, Derya is wearing sensible shoes. She comes across what looks like a witch's cottage in the woods. I hope it is. Her make-up is running like crazy. It must know they're on the lamb. She calls her dad. If the boys were any kind of clever, they'd be tracking her phone.
Dilan continues to counter every way Baran feels like he let Kerem down or could have done things differently.

What. The. Hell. Derya calls...Cevahir? Who is this guy?!?
And, he knows what she did.  How? What?
Who is this dude?

Dilan gets Baran to recount how he and Kerem became business partners too. There was a shady guy they shouldn't have been doing business with, but Kerem didn't realize it at first. They had to beat people up. They've been inseparable ever since.
Foreheads together, eyes closed, she reminds him that they had to wait a long time for Baran to wake up, too, after he had been shot.
Still no sign of Derya. More food nobody wants to eat.
Another memory of Kerem and him talking about who they think will get married first.** Kerem gets to do a teeth-suck!  Baran says it will be Kerem who falls in love first. Teeth-suck from Kerem. It'll be Baran for sure, and it won't be easy--because, Baran--but he promises to be there for him. Baran looks at her. And he was right, he tells her. Because here they are.

They did it; they tracked her phone's signal.

Yelling at the tv:
*What's that about? So what if the new guy doesn't like her plans. What's he to her? No seriously, what is he to her?
**All these memories of Kererm, I can't tell if this is good or bad. If it's bad, it's like a mini pre-memorial for him; if it's good, we are getting to see more of Kerem that they can build on later.
1 Hagia Sophia and 3 (!) Hagia Sofaraways chanted

Teaser 183:
Gul is at the hospital too. She and Firat sit at one end of the corridor with Baran and Dilan at the other. Hasan sees them and does a double take. Azade alludes to Kader being at home, working, a thinly veiled threat. It does the trick; she leaves. And then they lay into Firat.
