Kan Cicekleri episode 163

Back At Home At Last

Quick synopsis: Baran is on the case. Gul has no patience for Bridezilla. They patsy gets interrogated.

Baran slams the laptop cover down after he realizes he got sucked into the movie. Dude. Maybe she was watching it? FrownyBaran. She gives him back the scarf and he smells it.
Wha--??? Why? Because it smells like her? But he usually does that kind of thing when she can't see him doing it. This is in full view. Maybe because she said she washed it, to get the blood out. And he wants to know if it still smells like his mom? If that's the case, I get that.
It makes him remember what she said about never having stopped loving him. ("Come hell or high water, I never stopped loving you.") And now he's certain it's a memory, not a dream. He asks her, is that what you said. She insists it never happened.
Hold up. What?!?

Why wouldn't she admit that? It was her only consolation when he was hurt, that she could love him openly again. WTF Dilan. This is your chance. Ah, but Baran's interest is peaked now. He's on the case. And he will get to the bottom of it. They sleep in the same bed again and he wakes up like Jack Skellington, looking at her like "What's this?!?" with Dilan's arm protectively over his chest. Aww, and he gets to stroke her hair again. We know how he loves that. Ok, so he knows she's lying when she denies things, and he's going to let it play out. But does he realize it was all a bluff, even prior? Cuz it seems like before he got shot, he was feeling those untruthful words in his heart. Which, in contrast, is also the reason he doesn't believe them now. He would "feel them here" he says and taps his heart. So he doesn't feel the sting of them anymore. At any rate, he'll play along and find a way to end this game. But he believes she loves him! She does love him! This is working out perfectly. And he still loves her! He admits he'll love her for a million years. They can't be open about it (again) but whew! I feel like we as an audience are out of the woods also. Thank goodness. This has been grueling. Grue. Ling.

In the morning he wakes up suddenly and Dilan is all, Nothing! I wasn't playing with your hair!. We know she can't be coy, but he is not going to be able to keep a straight face. It's going to be great. ğŸ˜…
FrownyBaran catches a call and text coming in on Dilan's traitor phone. More pieces of the puzzle of the woman who didn't want to leave his bedside.*
Gul is still Dilan's main confidant and our source of sanity. Love her. #teamGul. All the evidence--that is to say, Dilan's actions--point to still caring for him and he's more convinced than ever.
She checks him for a fever and...kisses him on the forehead?!? For, like, a looong time. What is happening right now?! They don't know. We don't know. None of us know!
She gets so flustered she spills the tea and he pulls on her arm so she's leaning over him, to tell her not to bother fussing over him to clean it, but now they're nose to nose. I bet he's testing his theory. He also sees her refuse a text from Sabiha.
Kerem calls with news. Baran's on his way. Wait, Kerem says, you shouldn't be out of be--. Nope. He's off. He never does what Kerem says anyway.

Sabiha texted because she found out the Karabeys have the patsy. And she is ner-vous. The patsy's name is Turgut.
Kudret will bring Turgut to the mansion so Baran doesn't have to go out. Hasan gets called in to spirit him away for Sabiha. Not a great plan, but what can she do? Another call and text to Dilan, which she refuses. Baran notices.
A visit from Firat and pledged loyalty.
Hasan tries to nab Turgut but Kudret bounces him. It's none of your concern, Hasan (you rat).

Derya is giving Gul a hard time. She's the new Karabey bride, better do what she wants. To which Gul mutters, more like Bridezilla. (Love, LOVE her.) Derya tried to slap her but from out of the frame comes a hand to stop her. It's Firat. Of course it is. And he is pissed. The message is basically never, ever, ever, never raise a hand to Gul.
Unrelated, we see the first break in Kader's cold shoulder toward Dilan.

The Karabey boys are interrogating Turgut. Baran catches him in a lie. He has a day to think over his story. The boys all agree: Turgut is being used. He's being threatened and taking the fall for someone else. His family is put under protection** so he'll feel more free to talk.
Dilan has been looking for him while he was off with his dad and Cihan, and when he walks up the driveway she is relieved Sabiha hasn't done something to him again. He is bleeding a bit though from the strain of the interrogation. She freaks out and he asks her again, why do you care? Is what I heard in the hospital real? I don't believe you when you deny it.
And we've just seen with Turgut how someone will lie when their loved ones are threatened, the amount of punishment they'll take. I wonder if he'll make that connection.

There is a surprise guest coming to dinner.

Yelling at the tv:
*Azade tells Baran, "She watched you like a hawk." Like a hawk! I made the 'I'm watching you' gesture with my two fingers between me and FrownyBaran. Like a hawk, I tell you.
**Ok, so I've resisted this for a long time, but my watching mate is convinced they are gangsters. I'm all, no, they're jewelers. Rich people like their stuff and they have guards is all. But with this I kinda have to admit, yeah, they're gangsters. I mean his dad was shot by a young blood; dude pulled out a big ole shiny gun*** from the back waistband of his trousers in the first episode...yeah, they gangstas.
This was the episode of so many What the-?!?'s. So. Many.
0 Hagia Sophias chanted, again. I might have missed the boat on this trend.

Culturalisms:
***Is there a reason, in any scene where multiple people have a gun, that Baran's is always the only silver one? Is it a head-of-the-family thing?
All the water these women splash on their faces and nary a mascara streak. That's some seriously good mascara. Durable make-up in general.
They blur it out, but Baran's bullet wound looks awful. Ragged and black and yellowish. Well done, make-up artists.
Why do they never go down that little hallway in their room between the dresser and the door? What's down there anyway? That would have been a perfect spot to pull him aside and tell him everything. Nobody would overhear; nobody goes there.

Teaser 164:
Changing the bandage. Open shirt, bare chest, and he knows she cares. The surprise dinner guest is Sabiha. Baran is totally setting a trap, I'm sure of it. He suspects Dilan's weakness. She buttons up his shirt. Is there something he should know? They're so close again. She literally flees the room.
